A Night in the Woods

Among the mountains and valley floors
The bobcat wails, the eagle soars
While pine trees glisten in the rain
Hear the bobcat wail again
Her cubs are warm and safe in her den
Hidden well from the sight of men
The doe suspects nothing amiss in the night
She grazes on tall grass in bright moonlight
Owl sees a shadow and hoots out a warning
Doe looks up quickly to see danger coming
She leaps off gracefully into the trees
Bobcat comes after; swift as the breeze
Doe ran and ran from ridgerock to hollow
She soon found a place bobcat wouldn't follow
There in the safety of a swift-running stream
She felt the fury, heard bobcat's scream
Though bobcats prey had escaped; there was no sorrow
She would go again hunting tomorrow

That Bright & Shining Star

Do you think you are trapped by your body?
You are
You need to look up and find
That bright & shining star
If you think the world is unfair
It is
Have you found it yet?
That bright and shining star
Do you feel that cloud hanging over you?
It's dark outside
Off in the distance you think you see
That bright and shining star
What does your happiness depend on?
You
Sometimes you even feel you can reach out and touch
That bright and shining star
You feel your peace of mind must know
It does
How to reach
That bright and shining star
Then one day you look at a reflection
Of you
It's only then you realize it's you
You are
That bright and shining star
